OU couldn’t capitalize, as Rattler was intercepted on a deep pass by Julius Brents at the KSU 7-yard line. The play was reviewed on replay and officials determined Zentner’s heel touched the ball after it bounced following his initial contact with the ball, giving OU the ball at the K-State 36-yard line. Kansas State tried an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff and kicker Ty Zentner recovered his own kick at the Wildcat 45-yard line. Vaughn had 104 yards receiving and 51 yards rushing. It ended with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Thompson to Deuce Vaughn to cut OU’s lead to 27-17 with 3:19 to play in the third quarter. K-State went 75 yards in just five plays to respond, getting a 54-yard pass from Thompson to Keenan Garber on the first play of the drive.
